Why, we are the best and unique?
Let us now analyze some of the 5D Learning Methodology based fundamental features that make International Millennium School Kotkapura unique and best among all other schools
1st D and 2nd D
1. A unique concept of schooling with Parenting
In the last decade, many young men and women from Punjab have gone abroad and got married and settled there permanently or are planning to settle there. Most of these young men are in the form of a single family, both husband and wife go out of the house for employment. It is a big challenge for such young men to raise their children well and according to Indian values. Due to increasing urbanization in Punjab, the situation of young couples is not much different. Both the parents go out of the house for employment and they do not have the necessary time to raise the child. Despite the best efforts of the parents, obstacles arise in the development of the child. Therefore, according to 5D Learning Methodology, a crucial role of the school becomes mandatory in the upbringing of the child. Therefore, International Millennium School Kotkapura works on a hybrid method of boarding and day school in kindergarten for young NRI and Indian parents. In this method, the combination of schooling and parenting ensures the all-round development of the child, i.e. the school not only teaches the child but also nurtures him in modern ways, special nursing staff is kept to take care of the child's food and drink, his physical development activities, his sports and games etc. From the third class, parents are also given the facility to keep their children in weekly boarding or traditional boarding.
2. Happy Schooling
5D Learning Methodology believes that for the all-round development of the child, it is very important that the child's mind is free from all kinds of pressure and his mind is always enlightened. The child should never consider studies and school as a burden, but should easily accept school life as an integral part of his life and enjoy it, so 5D Learning Methodology believes in the concept of Happy Schooling. To implement Happy Schooling, 5D Learning Methodology takes the help of No School Bag- No Home Work policy and Multidisciplinary and Activity Based Study. ii. No School Bag- No Home Work - In 5D Learning Methodology, under Happy Schooling, children are taught with No School Bag- No Home Work policy. With this policy, not only the children but also the parents are saved from many unnecessary pressures. Sometimes it is seen that the burden of the school bag is more than the child, they carry it with difficulty and this also has a negative impact on their physical development. Similarly, Home Work deprives the child of playing and jumping at home, which is very important for his physical and mental development. Apart from this, Home Work often becomes a reason for parents to give tuition to the child, which is not at all a sign of a good education system. Yes, it is important to mention here that after the end of kindergarten, when the period of primary education begins, some self-learning and project activities are definitely given to day scholar children for home and from the eighth grade, some written work is also given to children in the form of assignments, but because by that time the child has become so mature that he can do his learning-related work and written work himself without any help. ii. Multidisciplinary and Activity Based Study- 5D Learning Methodology considers music, drawing and dance as an integral part of children's education. Music easily pleases the mind. Art gives the child the freedom to express his feelings through colors and pictures. Dance is also a way of physical activities through which the child expresses happiness and at the same time these activities also provide physical exercise. Apart from this, with the combination of music, art and dance, language and other subjects can be easily taught to the child without any mental pressure. Keeping in mind the above qualities, 5D Learning Methodology starts introducing music, art and dance to the children from kindergarten itself. The multidisciplinary and activity-based teaching of this method always keeps the child free from all kinds of pressures due to which the child never considers studies and school as a burden.
3. Learning of English Language with L.S.R.W. technique
A child starts his education from kindergarten. The training in this part has to become the basis for the child's further education throughout his life. Usually, when a child comes to school, he has the ability to speak and understand his mother tongue. That is why it is said that the medium of primary education of a child should be in the mother tongue. But today's world structure is such that it becomes compulsory that the medium of primary education should be English in India too. In such a situation, it becomes very important that the training of English should be such that the child's grasp on English is like that of his mother tongue. Only by doing so will the child's ability to understand all subjects become of a high standard. However, we often see that despite studying in English Medium schools, the proficiency of children in English is not of a high standard and it is often seen that such children do not succeed in the third or fourth grade.
Later, they start lagging behind in their school studies and as the children enter the higher classes, their interest in studies decreases further. Due to lack of grasp of the English language, the child finds it difficult to understand the concepts and starts resorting to rote learning. However, there is also a limit to rote learning or memorization. That is why the academic performance of the child starts going down from class to class. But the reason for this problem related to English is not the child but the wrong method of teaching that is often used to teach English in schools. In Indian schools, teaching English is started with reading and writing, which is a very wrong and unnatural method. The correct method of learning any language starts with listening. Then the child learns to speak, read and write. This method is called SLRW. This method is the best method of learning any language. Every child in the world learns his mother tongue through this method. The child learns from the people around him. He listens to the words spoken, he watches the lips and facial expressions of the speaker and body movements. Initially, the child starts understanding the meaning and emotions of the words he hears, but he cannot speak them. Gradually, he starts imitating the way they speak. Initially, his pronunciation is not pure, but gradually his pronunciation also becomes correct. In this way, he moves from words to sentences and learns to speak and understand the language. Often, we see that the language that the child can speak and understand, he also learns to read and write very quickly.
According to 5D Learning Methodology, we use LSRW to teach English to children in our school. With this, your child will first learn to speak and understand English like a mother tongue and then he moves on to learning to read and write. In this way, when the child learns English naturally, English also settles in his mind like his mother tongue and he never faces any problem related to the English language.
4. Concept based learning of Math’s
Usually students take Math subject as a hobby and very few students are found who like Math subject. The big reason for this is that Math is taught very wrongly from kindergarten itself. In normal schools, numbers are taught as a rote but this is not the case in 5D Learning Methodology. From the beginning, the child is made to identify each number according to its value in such a way that the child can understand that why is one, one? And why is five, five? He also understands that the number is written in any language in any form, its importance in Math is according to its value. In this way, when the child starts learning Math, Math never becomes a challenge for him in the future. When the primary education period begins, the child spends every period of math in the math lab and he is taught math in a practical way as a concept so that the child can know that math is not just for the purpose of exams. He can know what is the importance of math in his life and how he has to use math practically in his life.
5. No Fix Class Room
5D Learning Methodology believes that it is absolutely wrong to make the student sit in the same room all day and teach him every subject because firstly, students feel bored sitting in the same room all day and secondly, special kind of environment and supporting materials are required to teach every subject. Therefore, 5D Learning Methodology establishes a subject-based classroom system instead of grade-based classroom system. This means that students go to different classrooms or labs for studying different subjects. For example, Punjabi period in Punjabi subject room, Math’s period in Math’s lab. The lab or classroom of each subject is made according to the needs of that subject. Which facilitates the student in understanding the concept. Along with this, since the student does not sit in one room all day and the environment changes from period to period, his mental state also remains better.
Projects and Practical learning
The child is started working on small projects according to his age during primary education itself. Due to which the 2nd 'D' of 5D Learning Methodology which is Practical Implementation of knowledge can be implemented properly. Under this, the child is taught how to do Practical Implementation of his Knowledge in order to understand the Knowledge being acquired in more depth. Projects are different for different subjects and different classes. 5D Learning every child has to do two quarterly and one annual project activity in two subjects of his choice in a year. In Five D Learning Methodology, these projects are an integral part of the examination system. There are countless projects but some of the prominent ones are Mock Research Paper Writing, Conducts of Interviews of prominent Personalities, Documentaries Making, Book Writing and Publications, Making of Science Models, Robotics, Participation in International research projects and Camps, MUN etc.
Unique Examination System
As already mentioned, 5 Learning Methodology is conducted in a special way, in this, each D of 5D Learning Methodology is evaluated separately. 1sD which is related to academic excellence is also evaluated in a special way. The question paper is structured in such a way that not only the child's ability to remember is tested, but also Critical Thinking, Analytical Thinking, Creativity, Innovation Ability and Problem Solving Ability etc. can be tested. Apart from this, quarterly and annual project activities are evaluated to test the 2nd 'D' which is dedicated to Practical Implementation of knowledge. Similarly, the activities under 3rdD, 4thD and 5th D are also evaluated on a quarterly basis and these evaluations have an important place in the child's annual evaluation card. In this way, the profile building of the child is started from the primary classes and after senior secondary, when the student completes school, he has a strong profile on the basis of which he can take admission in the famous universities of the world.
3rd D and 4th D Early Target Study and Exposure
Division of students as per their interests
The division of children according to their interests is done when they enter the 5th class. From here, 3rdD starts which talks about Early Targeted Study. Children are divided into three main groups and further these groups are also divided into sub groups.
This division is done according to the child's performance in the last seven years, the opinions of parents and teachers. Children Competitive, Sports and Performing Arts are divided into three main groups. Competitive includes those children who are more inclined towards studies. Sports group includes children who are inclined towards sports and performing arts include children who are skilled and inclined towards art forms. Sports and performing arts children are further divided according to different sports and art forms. Like music, painting, dance, drama, etc., sports children are divided into different sports. Every day, two periods are sent to the children for learning according to their assigned group. Sports children now come to school in track suits and go straight to the ground for practice and after their practice, they freshen up in the bathrooms built in the school itself and change their uniform and come to the academic campus for their studies. This kind of division lays the foundation for the child to succeed in at least one field from a young age and the child becomes successful in one field or the other.
Career counseling sessions
From the eighth grade itself, the child starts being given career counseling workshops where they are given information about different careers and it is told how they can successfully reach these careers. Psychometric tests and other scientific tests help the child to choose which subjects after tenth standard and which career they want to pursue in their life.
New era 11th and 12th
After 10th, competitive students are further divided into different groups for different entrance tests according to their interest, NEET JEE CLAT UPSC NATA NID NIFT IPMAT NDA CA Foundation. The preparation for the entrance test is done in the school itself along with school studies. Due to which the children do not have to join any separate academy to prepare for the entrance test and since they have been studying competitively since they were young, even the toughest entrance test proves easy for them. We have named this as the new age 11th and 12th.
Exposure
A child who performs well in any field, it is very important that his work is made known to the world so that he gets the praise and fame of the people, he gets the inspiration to do better, and the path is paved for him to become a great and famous personality in that field one day. For this, International Millennium School Kotkapura takes many special efforts
i. Exhibitions- Mandatory participation in national and international level exhibitions related to various subjects and fields.
ii. International Scholar Exchange Program- In today's era of globalization, it is very important that the child gets the opportunity to live in an environment with different cultures of the world, so that his tolerance towards different cultures increases and the qualities of becoming a global citizen are developed in him. For these purposes, International School Exchange Program is a major part of the school calendar.
iii. Skills learning- To help the child live his life smoothly, many small and big life saving and earning skills are taught to the child so that the child does not lose courage in difficult situations and can live his life easily. It continues till the end of the year
iv. Summer Camps- In normal schools, during the summer vacation, children are given a lot of written material and also a list of activities is given. Parents are instructed to get the activities done and post the photos of these activities in the Class Whatsapp group. You tell them what is the benefit of this kind of schooling to the children. But in International Millennium School Kotkapura, children are sent to various national and international level summer camps according to their age and interest so that the child can learn various new skills in a comfortable environment, which helps in his all-round development. I
v. Hobbies Creation Activities Hobbies creation activities are voluntarily chosen recreational activities, which involve imagination, self-expression, and the process of making or creating something for pleasure and personal fulfillment. These are very important for a student for his all-round development. Sports are an essential pillar of the 5D learning method. Sports embody the values of discipline, teamwork, resilience and leadership. For generations, it has been a tool for personal development and shapes the daily pace and spirit of school life. Throughout the year, physical education classes are scheduled in the students' timetable, making it an integral part of the school curriculum. Students start their morning with physical training, which is mandatory in junior classes. Sports children come to school in track suits and go straight to the ground for practice and after their practice, they freshen up in the bathrooms built in the school and change into their uniforms and come to the Academic campus for their studies.
Students can choose their sport according to their interest from badminton, cricket, basketball, volleyball, horse riding, archery, boxing, table tennis and many more. National and international coaches and high-class sports infrastructure have been arranged for sports training.
4th ‘D
Establishment of student’s independent societies
4th ‘D’ is related to organizing conferences on various qualities like leadership, confidence, speaking skills, critical thinking, etc. in the student for the all-round development of his personality. For this, the structure of Student Societies is developed in the school, and tie-ups of these Societies are done with national and international organizations. Students take membership in these Societies according to their interest and their subjects.
Mainly the societies will be as follows.

5th ‘D
Community Service and Religious Education
In the 5D Learning Methodology, 5thD is dedicated to moral, religious and community service. This module is started from the fifth grade. Under this, the child is given a diary in which many activities are written. These activities are related to moral, religious and social services. In front of these activities, it is also written that how many days these activities have to be done and how many total marks the child will get for doing these activities. The child can do any of these activities according to his interest and means. There is a quarterly based evaluation of the activities done by him. The child has to score at least 80 in this module in one session. The child gets the signatures of the people related to that activity in his diary and then gets the signatures on that diary from his program coordinator. Only after this signature is the child's
Activity work is considered complete and marks are given to it.
