A Unique Boarding School
International Millennium School Kotkapura is a hybrid boarding school. From Pre Nursery to 2nd class, the school provides the facility of Day Schooling and Day Schooling with Parenting to the parents. The facility of Parenting is an option for the parents.
From 3rd class, the parents are given three types of choices, they can get their child educated in any way according to their convenience.
1. Day Schooling with Parenting
In this method, the child comes to school every day and returns home every day. But when he comes home, he comes after completing all his school-related procedures like homework etc. and unlike normal schools, the parents do not have to worry about the education of their children.
2. Weekly Boarding
The concept of weekly boarding is a new initiative invented by 5D Learning. This system has been specially designed for parents living up to 50/60 km away. Under this initiative, an attempt has been made to adapt the traditional boarding system to the changing needs of the times by making some changes so that the child can get both the high-quality education of a boarding school and the love of the parents continuously. In this system, the child goes home every Saturday evening and returns to school on Monday morning.
For working parents and for the elderly who are looking after their children living abroad,
This system is like a boon.
Like boarding school, the learning process of the child continues till late at night, which helps a lot in the all-round development of the child.
The child saves a lot of time that was spent commuting to and from school and does not have to face unsafe road travel.
Parents do not need to worry about their child’s homework and tuition etc.
3. Traditional Boarding
Under this arrangement, the child gets a high standard of education by staying in boarding school completely.
Boarding Life
Boys’ hostel is supervised by a house master, and girls’ hostel is supervised by a house mistress. Both the hostels have their own common rooms, computer rooms, linen rooms and entertainment areas, honors board.
Each student meets his/her tutor regularly, who provides guidance on all matters related to the student’s development.
The House Master/House Mistress, along with their team, works with the assigned team of Tutors and Dames to provide pastoral care, maintain discipline and run the day-to-day running of the House. They are guides and mentors who oversee the all-round development of students.
Tutoring aims to respond to the individual needs of students within the boarding community and forms an important part of the School’s pastoral care framework through which it is committed to the highest standards of student welfare. Each Tutor is responsible for a small group (8-10) of Tutors who provide them with ongoing academic advice and pastoral guidance.
Dames are the first point of contact for parents to track the welfare of their wards. They provide administrative and emotional support to all students of all ages, ensure that their laundry, haircuts and other aspects of their personal lives are managed, and work alongside the Tutors and Housemaster. They supervise all meals ensuring that students eat a well-balanced diet, liaise with the wellness centre, dispense medication and provide necessary care for the physical and emotional well-being of students. They are responsible for managing the support staff assigned to housekeeping tasks in the house.
